Overview of ISSA Oklahoma Meetings and Sponsorships

ISSA Oklahoma chapter meetings are held at SpiritBank’s downtown Tulsa location, 1800 S Baltimore Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119. The meeting space accommodates approximately 45 to 50 attendees, with typical monthly participation ranging from 30 to 35 individuals.

Our audience is primarily composed of IT and Information Security professionals from the region. We also regularly welcome students who are pursuing or exploring cybersecurity education, and their participation is encouraged.

Meetings follow a consistent format. Attendees arrive, check in, and have lunch prior to the start of the session. At approximately 11:45 a.m., Nathan opens the meeting with chapter updates, announcements, and upcoming events. He then introduces the scheduled speaker or presenting vendor.

Vendors who present to the chapter sponsor the meeting by providing lunch. The usual sponsorship amount is around $1,000, which covers lunch, use of the facility, and a door prize for attendees. Sponsorship arrangements can be adjusted to meet specific vendor objectives or presentation needs.

Expectation of Vendors

Vendor presentations should be structured to provide clear educational value to attendees. A recommended format is to begin by outlining the problem space, followed by a discussion of solution approaches, and then demonstrating how the vendor’s product addresses the issue. Presentations should remain informative in nature and avoid a hard sales pitch.

During event registration, attendees are given the option to share their contact information with the speaker. This option is opt‑in by default, and only individuals who choose to keep the selection enabled will have their information shared.

Attendees who opt in to sharing their contact information are also included in the drawing for the meeting’s door prize. Members of the ISSA Oklahoma Board of Directors do not participate in door prize drawings.
